As I already mentioned above, this guide includes two types of methods, first by flashing the Magisk installer zip using TWRP recovery and the second method by flashing Magisk patched boot image using fastboot command.

So, let’s quickly jump to the process.

Method 1: Root Samsung Galaxy A01 using TWRP Recovery

  1. Download the Latest Magisk Zip file on your Samsung Galaxy A01 device.
  2. Move the downloaded zip file to your phone’s external storage.
  3. Now, Reboot Samsung Galaxy A01 in TWRP recovery mode.
    • Turn Off your phone.
    • Press and hold the Volume Up + Power button until you see the boot screen, release the Power button (do not release the volume up key until you boot into TWRP mode.)
  4. Alternatively, you can also use the ADB command to boot into recovery mode.
    • Connect Samsung Galaxy A01 to your PC/Laptop.
    • Open the Command Prompt on your PC and type the following command.
      adb reboot recovery
    • This will boot Samsung Galaxy A01 in recovery mode.
  5. On TWRP main screen, Tap on “Install.”

Method 2: Root Samsung Samsung Galaxy A01 without TWRP Recovery

  1. Download Stock Firmware for Samsung Galaxy A01.
  2. Extract the boot.img file from stock firmware. (Check out this guide.)
  3. Move the boot image file to your phone’s internal storage.
  4. Install the latest Magisk App on your phone.
  5. Open the app from the app drawer.
  6. Tap on “Install” and then tap on “Next.”Install Magisk Using Patched Boot Image Method
  7. Next, tap on the “Select and Patch a File” option.
  8. Locate the boot image file (e.g., boot.img) and Select it.
  9. Magisk Manager will patch the boot image file with the latest version of Magisk.
  10. Once done, the boot image gets patched. It will get saved in the Download folder of your phone.
  11. Copy the magisk_patched.img file to your PC and rename it to boot.img.
  12. Now, convert boot.img to boot.tar file.
    • To do that, right-click on the boot.img file.
    • 7-Zip ZS → click on Add to archive.convert boot.img to boot.tar
    • Select the Archive format to tar and hit ok.boot-tar
  13. Boot Samsung Galaxy A01 into ODIN/Download mode.
    • Turn off your device.
    • You can do so by holding the Volume Down + Volume Up + Power keys simultaneously for a few seconds.
    • Release the keys when you get a screen with an exclamation sign.
    • Press Volume Up key to enter the Download Mode.

Do these Steps on PC

  1. Now we have to flash the boot.tar file using ODIN for rooting.
  2. Download the Odin flash tool and extract the file.
  3. Run Odin.exe file.
  4. Connect your Samsung Galaxy A01 device to the PC. You will see a blue sign in Odin.Odin Device Added
